Ten-year-old Ben Tennyson's summer road trip becomes an alien adventure when he finds the Omnitrix — an alien watch that locks onto his wrist and transforms him into ten different heroes. Every kid wanted the Omnitrix toy, and every playground became a forum for debating which alien was the coolest.
Cartoon Network's Ben 10 premiered with a sneak peek on December 27, 2005, before its official debut on January 13, 2006. Created by the Man of Action collective — Duncan Rouleau, Joe Casey, Joe Kelly, and Steven T. Seagle — the show centered on ten-year-old Ben Tennyson, who discovers the Omnitrix during a summer road trip with his grandfather Max and cousin Gwen. The watch locks onto his wrist and grants him the power to transform into ten alien heroes, beginning with Heatblast.
The series ran for four seasons and 49 episodes through April 15, 2008, winning an Emmy for Outstanding Individual Achievement in Animation. The concept proved so popular that the toy line became a merchandising juggernaut — Omnitrix watches and alien figures flooded store shelves, and kids everywhere argued over which alien form was the best.
The franchise expanded well beyond the original run: sequel series Alien Force (2008–2010), Ultimate Alien (2010–2012), and Omniverse (2012–2014) kept the Omnitrix alive and introduced new audiences to Ben's transformations.
