Gym Scooter Boards
A square of plastic, four caster wheels, and two handles — the gym scooter was the best day of the elementary-school month. When the PE teacher wheeled out the stack of them, the gymnasium became a demolition derby, and every kid learned the same two lessons: how fast you could really go, and exactly what it felt like to run over your own fingers.
