Nestlé Quik

The yellow container of brown powder that turned ordinary milk into an event. Nestlé Quik was the after-school alchemy kit of American childhoods — two heaping spoonfuls (never the suggested amount), a storm of stirring, and that layer of sludge at the bottom you ate with the spoon. In 1999 the name on the label changed to Nesquik, and a small piece of the 20th century quietly ended.
